About the Artist

Mariajuanita Guzman (1982–2025) was a fine arts artist whose oil paintings captured beauty through her unique vision. Oil on canvas was her first love, but she mastered every medium she touched — acrylics, digital art — bringing fierce creativity to each new challenge.

Viajes — Spanish for journeys. During their first months living overseas in Thailand, MJ and her husband Cisco chose a new name together. They got it tattooed, and MJ adopted it as her pen name — a reflection of the adventures that lay ahead, painting her way across the world.

They called themselves the "Roaming Pigs" — always on the move, always seeking the next great adventure and the next amazing meal. For over eight years they traveled through Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Americas, MJ painting everywhere they went.

By supporting her work, you help The Mariajuanita Guzman Art Foundation remove barriers for emerging artists — just as someone once did for her.
